Welcome to the vibrant capital of Nepal – Kathmandu. As your plane lands at Tribhuvan International Airport, our cheerful representative will be waiting outside the arrival gate, holding a placard with your name. You’ll be driven through bustling city streets to your hotel in a private vehicle. As soon as you reach and get checked in, the day is free for you to relax and unwind. Let the distant peal of temple bells and flutter of prayer flags welcome you to this city of yesteryear temples and eternally bewitching charm.

Your second day begins with a good breakfast, followed by a full briefing on the trek. Your guide will cover the itinerary, the probable weather, safety tips, and highlights for the days ahead. Then we venture out to find the timeless essence of Kathmandu. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Durbar Squares of Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur – each with wood-carved palaces and temples. From the spiritual stupas of Boudhanath and Swayambhunath to the sacred grounds of Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu is a living museum of art, faith, and history. In the evening, stroll through the colorful alleys of Thamel and prepare for the days of adventure that await.

A morning transfer takes you in the direction of the airport for a brief scenic flight to Pokhara, Nepal’s lakeside city and mountain hub. On clear days, the 25-minute journey gives you breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri giants. Upon arrival, we transfer you to your lakeside hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure – perhaps take a gentle walk along Phewa Lake, visit Tal Barahi Temple by boat, or sip coffee with a view of Machhapuchhre reflected in the water.

After breakfast, we drive for two hours to Nayapul – the gateway to the Annapurna area. We begin our trek from this point, proceeding along the riverside village of Birethanti, where we do the permit formalities. The trail gradually winds its way through fields, stone villages, and winding rivers, with glimpses of Mount Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) showing the way. After a relaxed 3-hour trek, we arrive at Tikhedhunga, a simple village tucked between cultivated hillsides.

Fuel up with a nutritious breakfast, then climb upwards towards the hilltop village of Ulleri. The trail goes up steeply through stone staircases, but the reward is adequate in the way of imposing views of Annapurna South and surrounding peaks. After a tea break at Ulleri, we hike in serene rhododendron and bamboo forests and lunch at Nangge Thanti. The final stretch brings us to Ghorepani, with the air full of crisp mountain air and views simply heavenly.

Elevation: Poon Hill 3,210 m / Tadapani 2,630 m

At dawn, we ascend with headlamps to Poon Hill, a popular vantage for sunrises. As the sun rises above the horizon, it bathes peaks like Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, Machhapuchhre, and Hiunchuli with rosy and golden hues – perhaps the most magical instant in the Himalaya. We return to Ghorepani for breakfast and begin our 6-hour trek to Tadapani. The trail ascends to Thapla Danda and descends through thick forests of rhododendron, wildlife, and alpine flora. We have lunch at Banthanti and move slowly further on to Tadapani.

Elevation: 2,170 m (7,119 ft)

Today’s walk is a short one and allows you time to catch your breath. From breakfast, the trail descends through peaceful forests and crosses the Kimrong River, then rises gradually to a Gurung village that clings to the hillside. There is a final short hill walk after lunch that brings you to Chhomrong, a village situated with stunning views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre towering above.

We begin with a descent to the Chhomrong Khola, followed by a steep ascent to Upper Sinuwa. The trail continues through shaded forests to Bamboo, where we pause for lunch. From here, we walk deeper into the forest toward Dobhan. The lush greenery and peaceful atmosphere offer a tranquil setting as we gain elevation gradually.

The day’s walk takes us closer to the glacial heart of the Annapurnas. We stop briefly at Himalaya for tea and pass the notable Hinku Cave en route to Deurali, where we enjoy lunch. After Deurali, we carefully cross an avalanche-prone zone before continuing through an open valley. Eventually, we arrive at Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC), surrounded by dramatic Himalayan walls.

A highlight of the trek – today we hike for about 2 hours to reach Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), a stunning amphitheater of snow-covered peaks. From this sacred ground, you’ll see Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Tharpu Chuli, and Machhapuchhre standing tall in every direction. Lunch is served at the base camp itself. You may spend the afternoon photographing the dramatic peaks, writing in your journal, or simply soaking in the grandeur. If skies are clear, don’t miss the evening alpenglow.

Awake early to witness a golden sunrise illuminating the Annapurna range from your doorstep. After breakfast, we begin our descent. The trail leads us back down through Deurali, Himalaya, and the green forest trails of Bamboo. The downhill journey offers new angles of the landscapes you climbed just days before.

Elevation: 1,780 m (5,840 ft)

Today we trek through forests and ascend to Sinuwa. After a downhill walk to Chhomrong Khola and another climb up to Chhomrong village, we stop for lunch. Then it’s a final descent to Jhinu Danda, where the highlight awaits – natural hot springs nestled beside the river. A soak in these thermal pools is the perfect remedy for tired muscles.

After a relaxed breakfast, we cross one of the region’s longest suspension bridges and walk briefly to the road where your jeep awaits. The drive to Pokhara takes around 3 hours. Once back in town, you can relax at your hotel, enjoy a lakeside massage, or celebrate your trek with a delicious dinner.

After a warm breakfast by the lake, we transfer you to the airport for your flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, a private vehicle will take you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to unwind, shop for souvenirs, or revisit a favorite temple.

The most pleasant months are in spring (March through May) and autumn (September to November). The months of clean skies, steady weather and stunning mountain views. Winter is also a possibility however, be prepared for snow and colder temperatures at higher elevations.
