Itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu arrival

Your trek towards Gokyo Lake begins after you arrive at TIA (Tribhuvan International Airport), Kathmandu. Once you reach TIA, our representatives will warmly welcome you to Kathmandu (the capital city of Nepal) with flowers. After that, you will drive to our standard hotel. We ensure that you won't get into any trouble while heading to the hotel. Once you reach the hotel, you can refresh and relax there. After some time, you will join us for dinner while we discuss the trek and the memories that can be created while trekking. Then, you can spend the time by singing or dancing with us. You can then sleep and get ready for the following day.

Day 02: Trek briefing + Drive to Ramechhap

You begin the day with a hearty breakfast, following which, you attend a trek briefing. During this session, you shall be introduced to your guide and supporting crew. At the same time, you shall also check your trekking equipment, and finalize all of the required permits. This ensures that you are fully ready and confident for the adventure to come. Following the briefing, you start the journey for the day with a scenic drive towards Ramechhap, which is the gateway for Lukla flights. Along the way, you will pass through rolling hills, small villages, and lush green landscapes that reflect the beauty of rural Nepal. Upon arrival in Ramechhap, you can take a rest and prepare for the journey ahead.

Day 03: Flight to Lukla + trek to Phakding (2,610m/8,563ft)

You fly to Lukla early in the morning. The duration to reach Lukla is around 35 minutes. Once you reach Lukla, you will be greeted by our trekking crew once again. After a short rest, you will receive a brief orientation about the trek. Then, you instantly begin your first trek toward the Phakding (2,610m). To go to Phakding, you must acquire the necessary permits to enter Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality. Additionally, permits for the future Sagarmatha National Park must be obtained.

During your journey, you will pass Dudh Koshi Valley near the Phakding (2,610m), where you will stay your first night near the river. This trek takes around 3-4 hours and offers a breathtaking view of Mt Kongde (6,086m).

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,286ft)

After spending the night at Phakding, you will be heading towards the largest village in the region (Namche Bazar), which takes 6-7 hours to reach by trekking. You will get to the Sagarmatha National Park, which is situated in the Monjo settlement, after several hours of hiking. You can easily explore Sagarmatha National Park, as you already have the permits. While exploring the Sagarmatha National Park, you can witness lots of flora (hemlock, fir, juniper, and rhododendron) and fauna (snow-leopard, red panda, musk deer, jackal, and wolves). You will then traverse the high suspension bridge, which is particularly known as the Hillary Bridge. At this bridge, you can clearly see the people having fun doing Bungee.

Then, you will start ascending steeply towards the Namche Bazaar (3,440m), which can take around 3 hours to reach. You can witness the clear view of jaw-dropping Mt Everest if you get lucky. This village has a very busy market schedule, especially on Saturdays. It is because this village is a main trading hamlet of the Khumbu region. This place is a well-known, busy town packed with locals and trekkers from all around the world.

Day 05: Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,286ft)

This day is allocated for acclimatization, as you have reached an altitude of 3,440 m. Consequently, you must adapt to the surroundings. This place is also a great spot to rest and prepare for the upcoming trek to even higher altitudes or mountain regions. Namche Bazar (3,400m) is a small, bustling area situated between the two great hills. This village is also fully surrounded by the huge peaks of the Khumbu region.

Although you have already explored Sagarmatha National Park, we will revisit it and explore additional places near Namche Bazaar. Additionally, you will further witness the statue of the great Tenzing Norgay Sherpa inside the Sagarmatha National Park. Furthermore, you will also have the opportunity to visit the Museum.

On this day, you will also hike for around two hours in the direction of the Everest View Hotel. When you reach the Everest View Hotel, you will be amazed at the awe-inspiring views of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Furthermore, you will also witness the mesmerizing views of Mt. Thamserku, Tabuche, and Kusum Khangkaru.

Day 06: Trek from Namche to Dhole (4,110m/13,689ft)

In the early morning, you will enjoy a hearty breakfast before preparing for the hike. After that, you will begin your trek, which will take around 6-7 hours to reach Dhole (4,110m). While trekking, you will ascend steeply towards Mong La to witness the panoramic views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and the Dudh Koshi Valley. After that, you will descend towards the Phortse Tenga to eat lunch. Once you have your lunch, you will immediately start your journey to Gokyo Lake by ascending via the lush rhododendron forest and alpine terrain before you arrive at the quiet village of Dhole. On this day, you will go to the higher altitude up the mountain, where you will start to enter quieter and remote parts of the Khumbu region.

Day 07: Trek from Dhole to Machhermo (4,470m/14,665ft)

On this day, a 4- to 5-hour short hike is scheduled. Through a canopy of blooming rhododendrons, the trail progressively climbs. As you trek higher, the altitude gradually increases, revealing a change in the landscape. This trail also offers excellent views of Mt. Cholu. Additionally, you can take in the breathtaking views of Thamserku and Mount Kangtega. To reach the destination of this day (Machhermo), you need to cross the small village called Luza (a scenic ridge-top settlement). After you cross this village, you will finally reach Machhermo (4,470m), where you eat your lunch. You can also take an acclimatization hike to the Himalayan Rescue Association center to help your body adjust to the higher altitude.

Day 08: Trek from Machhermo to Gokyo (4,790m/15,715ft)

This day will provide you with the opportunity to see Gokyo Lakes. Once you have a hearty breakfast after you wake up early in the morning, you will instantly begin your trek towards Gokyo. Climbing to Gokyo (4,790m) requires approximately four to five hours. This trail traverses high alpine terrain and chortens, offering an amazing view of Mt. Cho Oyu. After some time, you will observe the first and second Gokyo lakes before you reach Gokyo (one of the permanent highest settlements in the world). At this location, you will eat lunch and spend time exploring the lakes to acclimate your body to the altitude. This place offers spectacular scenery of glacier views and the surrounding peaks, which makes it a highlight of this trek.

Day 09: Hike to Gokyo Ri and rest day in Gokyo (5,360m/17,585ft)

With roughly two to three hours of hiking, this day's hike is the shortest of the entire trip. After breakfast, you will hike uphill to reach Gokyo Ri (5,360m). Once you reach Gokyo Ri, you can rest the whole day, or you can visit the nearby places of Gokyo Ri. This peak offers awe-inspiring views. It is also the best spot to witness the mind-blowing views of the four tallest mountains in the area: Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. Furthermore, you can also witness the enchanting views of the beautiful blue Gokyo Lake and Ngozumpa Glacier. Additionally, this mountain offers the most breathtaking sunrise vista.

Day 10: Trek back to Dhole (4,110m/13,689ft)

You start our return journey from this day. The trail retraces from Gokyo to Dhola (4,110m), taking approximately 6-7 hours to complete by trek. You will descend the path that follows the Dudh-Koshi River, Gokyo lakes, Machhermo, and Luza. The trail continuously descends, making the trek a little easier while offering breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. You can eat dinner and relax after arriving in Dhole because it's a quiet area to spend the night.

Day 11: Trek back to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,286ft)

Following the day, you will receive a hearty breakfast and then begin the trek by descending through alpine terrain, passing the Phortse Tenga. The trail then descends to the raised bridge next to the Dudh Koshi River. You will make a difficult ascent to Mong La from here. After that, you will descend through dense rhododendron forest for about 5-6 hours. This path leads to Namche Bazaar (3,440m). You will feel more comfortable, especially due to the climate, after returning to Namche Bazaar from the mountain.

Day 12: Trek back to Lukla (2,850m/9,350ft)

The opportunity to see the mountains in their entirety will end on this day. After having breakfast, you will head towards the Lukla. Before reaching Lukla, you will hike downhill for approximately 2 hours, passing through the Jorsale village. The trail passes through a lush forested area and several high-suspension bridges before you reach Phakding and Choplung. A long downhill trek brings you to the bustling town of Lukla, where you can rest, relax, enjoy, and prepare for tomorrow's flight back to Kathmandu.

Day 13: Fly to Manthali and Drive to Kathmandu

You will be provided with a hearty breakfast early in the morning, then you will prepare for the flight to Manthali. After that, you will take a short flight from Lukla to Manthali, which takes about 20 minutes. While you are on the flight, you can share the memories you created during the trek, how the journey made you feel, and the moments you enjoyed the most. After landing in Manthali, you will continue with a scenic 4–5 hour drive back to Kathmandu. Once you reach the city, you will be transferred to your hotel, where you can relax and rest for the entire day.

Day 14: Relax Day in Kathmandu

On this day, you can either relax or explore several popular places that are different from those visited earlier. You can visit various places, including Chandragiri Hills, Godavari Botanical Garden, Taleju Temple, Patan Museum, and Kirtipur Valley. While exploring these places, you can also enter the shopping market, where you can purchase various items as souvenirs. Furthermore, you can also visit popular restaurants and cafes for lunch and dinner.

Day 15: Departure
