Let us discuss the details of this trek.

Details

Manaslu circuit trek is considered comparatively less crowded than popular treks like Annapurna base camp and Everest base camp. This trek is an alternative to those treks, and the reason it is less crowded is not just due to its popularity but also due to permit issues. It is a restricted area in the Gorkha district of Nepal, making it an off-the-beaten-path experience that requires a special permit. This trek gives you the opportunity to experience the diverse local culture and traditions of the region with mesmerizing sceneries and snow peaks of the Manaslu Himalayan range. One of the best parts of this trek is you get to climb the Larkye La pass (5,106 meters) above sea level.

The Manaslu Circuit trek by Destiny Excursion starts and ends in Kathmandu. It is a challenging trek that is suitable mostly for Spring and Autumn since the weather conditions are not harsh during these times. We shall discuss the highlights of this trek, but before that, let us put this information in a table to help you understand it better.

For a quick hike, you can walk to Birendra Lake and enjoy the scenery and clean mountain air. Anyone looking for a more challenging hike can visit Manaslu Base Camp. Today is both an exciting and tough day for us on the trek. We have an early breakfast and then climb for a short distance to the valley just north of the Larkya Glaciers. It takes about 3 hours to hike to the peak of the pass which is 5,106 meters above sea level. The views from up there are truly amazing. Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kangguru and Annapurna II will be visible all around you. If you are fortunate, you could see footprints of snow leopards, blue sheep or Tibetan snow cocks while on the trail. After enjoying the views, we make our way down to Bimthang which will take several more hours. Today’s trek covers about 7-8 hours of walking, so it’s a long but memorable day for us.

After a couple of hours of trekking, we take lunch at the secluded village of Suti Khola, where you can relax and relish nature. From there, we continue along the river downstream through small villages and a trail in the forests.
