Tour Overview

This cultural day tour encourages you to dive into the spiritual character of Kathmandu Valley by visiting three amazing Newari towns of Bungamati, Khokana, and Kirtipur.

Your day trip begins at 9:00 am when your local guide picks you up from your hotel, and you depart by private car south of Kathmandu. The first stop is the historic village of Bungamati, a 16th-century Newar settlement perched on the hillside overlooking the Bagmati River.

In Bungamati, you walk along narrow alleys and courtyards and observe local craftsmen at work. Old women still weave carpets down the street, an ancient trade that has been performed generation after generation.

You may even get a blessing from one of Nepal’s three Living Goddesses, as one of them resides here at Kumari Ghar.

With your vigor restored and your senses awakened, you conclude the day and get back to your Kathmandu hotel by car.
